Back in action over here, still buzzzzzing over this trip.
For those of you who don’t know, my boyfriend and I just went on a 9 day trip to California for the first time! Also the first time on the west coast. Words can’t describe how amazing this trip was, but I will try with some (well, many) of the pictures I plan on sharing with you!
First we flew to LA for two days, then we jumped in our little teal bean mobile and chugged all the way to Yosemite National Park, and then concluded our venture in the beautiful San Francisco. This trip was unreal. The people were amazing. The food was delicious. The beer was awesome. The treasures were interesting and unique. And the land.. the land was just breathtaking, all of it.
Yes, that is a beer flight IN a skateboard @ Venice Ale House !
First we hit up Venice Beach to met up with our friends Cora and Laura. We hung out around there and walked along the beach. A lot of crazy vendors and a lot character overall. Witnessed our first California sunset and it was perfect.
Stayed at Cora’s little southwestern California bungalow. Obsessed.
The bean machine! When we got to the rental place it was basically a mad dash to grab a car before they were all gone and saw this bright blue bean and, welp hopped in that real quick obviously.
So to start Pete pretty much found every single place we ate at and he wins.. the gold medal. We never ate at a bad place.. thank pete, you rule. We found this little bakery called The Village Bakery & Cafe our first morning in LA and it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. We split a maple bacon scone (yes I just said that) and the most amazing strawberry donut I have ever had. Oh and their table markers had cats doing yoga on them. Great morning.
Heard there was a farmers market in Silver Lake, naturally I had to find it. We picked up some white nectarines, green plums & raw orange blossom honey to soak in some whiskey we bought earlier.. ohhhhh yeah, yum.
This wig though…
Ended up seeing more friends than I think we see in a weekend in L.A. than we do back home.. WEIRD.. but awesome.
I am not really a touristy kind of girl but we had to pop over to Hollywood Blvd for a bit just to say we went. It was cool. What was cooler… this amazBALLS (see what I did there) meatball and craft beer bar called Ball & Chain. It was on a side street… ALL the good stuff is on side streets. Lesson: always take the side streets. Anyways, it was delicious, I actually had veggie meatballs and they ruled.
Bye LA! It was a good 48 hours of solid exploring, definitely made the most of the little time we had there.
Part 2: Yosemite! Stay tuned!!!
