It’s almost turkey day! Woot woot! In light of Thanksgiving I wanted to share my trip down to Stamford, CT for the USB Parade Spectacular. For the past three years Pete and I have been trying to get to this parade and each year something ALWAYS happens, but anyways we finally made it and I had a blast!
The Parade is basically a smaller, similar version of the Macy’s Day Parade in NYC. While always watching the Macy’s Day Parade on TV since I was a little girl, actually seeing the giant balloons up close was so great. It was such a warm, nostalgic feeling to see Clifford the Big Red Dog floating through the beautiful blue November skies on Sunday :)
This guy is doing it right… it’s not Christmas yet! Way to rep Turkey Day!
Not sure what Kermit’s doing there… but it’s Kermit so I guess he can do whatever he damn well pleases.
Confetti and Snipers! Yay!
Waaahooooo!! Such a good time. Childhood memories all day! Grateful for the semi-warm weather and finally seeing all the balloons. I am however very disappointed because I was looking forward to seeing Snoopy (#1 fan) but he was a no show. Maybe next year!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Eat lots of great food and may your glass be always full of some sort of festive drink ;)
– Fun Facts –
– It will take 79,035 cubic feet of helium to fill up the helium balloon characters
– It will take 24 tons of sand to keep the balloons from flying away – that’s equivalent in weight to 12 elephants!
