WOAH, TWO weeks till xmas! Unreal!
A few weeks back Pete and I took my younger sister Nicole to NYC for the first time! Now let me give you a little of the back story behind this. I have been trying to take my sister to the city for so long and last year every time I made plans to go it either monsooned, snowed, etc so this was a big accomplishment. The NYC Renegade Craft Fair winter market was also going on. So we decided to take the train in early, hit the craft fair before it got mobbed, then hit up the classic NYC sights!
Stumbled upon a vintage poster shop on the walk to the fair. I just couldn’t NOT share these.. so so good. If I had more time I would have inquired about the cat poster.
Amelie Mancini is an amazing artist and designer.
Such beautiful hand spun yarn!
These skillets though… I want a Connecticut one!
How adorable and creative are these little D.I.Y embroidered doll kits by Kiriki Press!?!!?
I loved these lovely dolls by Erika Barratt. Everything right down to her display itself was full of well tailored detail and love.
Finkelstein’s, always a favorite!
Sarah K. Benning had really amazing embroidered items. Simple yet full of energy.
Discovered the most beautiful creations by Hechizo. A combination of ceramic and leather; they had the most unique earrings at the show! I actually just recently entered a contest of theirs on Instagram and won this exact bandana!
Lucky Fish Shop had all sorts of fun and funky prints.
By the time we left the fair there was a line around the block to get in because they stopped letting people inside! I am positive that I spent around 2 hours in there, I am terrible.
Ended up finding a cool craft beer bar for lunch called Rattle N’ Hum (well pete did, he is a Yelp champion). I finally had Harpoon UFO Gingerland on tap = obsession.
Then off to see the sites! We took Nicole to Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, and a few other places along the way.
ALSO right next to Radio City was a Free People store! Naturally us girls had to check it out. All of their interior winter decor was gorgeous, obviously.
So now for the goods I came home with. I picked up this awesome piece of gold foil printed fabric from Lucky Fish Shop that I have ideas in the works for.
I also snagged a bunch of goods from Coral & Tusk. Most of it I can’t post because they are gifts! But I did grab this little decorated buffalo ornament.
Picked up this little bronze banner pendant at one of the booths [insert emoji with huge heart eyes here] in a tray of odds and ends they were selling. Going to have to make something special with this guy!
I also got this really unique piece of jewelry from Sun and Glory. All her jewelry is made from ethically sourced deer skin leather. I love this piece because of its simplicity.
This absolutely gorgeous table runner is from Coral & Tusk as well. I literally got this for a STEAL, I still can’t believe it. I don’t have a long table to put it on but I bought it anyways. I folded it nicely and put it on the longest table I’ve got.. it works.
Great success!! The three of us had an awesome time! I am so glad I got to show my sister the city before the holiday madness ensues, but still got to see some of the holiday magic New York has to offer.
It was perfect!
Have an awesome week!
