Two years ago a bunch of my friends planned a weekend ski trip up to Mount Snow in West Dover, Vermont. Two weekends ago we decided to do it again for our second annual Skiapalooza. We rented a HUGE condo right on the mountain and had two full days of clear skys and good times.
Pete and I left our place in CT around 4:00 a.m (sooo early) and headed up to West Dover to get first chair on Friday morning. With the moon right in front of us and the sun rising behind us, lighting up all the snow covered trees with its pink and purple hues, the trip was already off to a good start. We reached the mountain around 8 a.m. and got ready for our epic day.
So we were the third chair up but it was so worth it.
The sun was still rising. The snow was perfectly groomed and untouched. Fresh corduroy. Trees covered in new snow. No matter the temperature or the time, waking up to take in all that indescribable beauty was so worth it.
Nothin like a tall boy when your freezing your buns off all day, AND Irish coffees of course.
Woooo! After a very successful day of riding we checked into our sweet digs on the mountain. We rented a condo and it was literally huge. I don’t think we all expected it to be as big as it was.
LOOK at this Comforter!!!! Need, want, almost stole.. way too cute!
Chocoooolate Belgian waffles.. they definitely make hanging out in freezing temperatures not so bad!
Caitlin and I ended up stumbling upon our dream board designed by Dana Tanamachi, an artist known for her amazing hand lettering and typography skills. Straight up dream board. Pretty much saw this board from a mile away and ran up and took pictures like a 12 year old at a Bieber concert.
For the past handful of trips we always seem to stop at this little restaurant called Whetstone Station on the way home from the mountain. I guess it’s tradition now? I can’t complain. We are usually beat tired and this place hasn’t let us down yet.
An interesting fact about this place is that the state line for New Hampshire and Vermont runs right through the back end of the restaurant. Technically half of us dined in New Hampshire while the other half sipped Irish Coffees in Vermont!
So happy to be able to share such a great trip with you all! Hope you enjoyed the post and the pictures!
Such an amazing weekend. Something about being together in a little apartment with all the people you love the most, drinking, laughing, playing card games, going outside and launching your body off a hill into 6 feet of powder in the back yard while people are trying to sleep…. are the times you’ll never forget.
My friend Scott compiled all the best footage from his GoPro and made this amazing video. It literally put a smile on my face that practically made my cheeks fall off! Please check it out!!
Peace, love & fresh pow ❄
