Good A.M. Hoping everyone’s weekend was great!
Today I wanted to share a gift I made my friend Caitlin for Christmas this year. His name is Solstice and he is a little winter bear mounted on a piece of birch wood.
While in Chicago this past October visiting my friends we stumbled upon these little bears that were made of felt and mounted on small pieces of wood at this cool shop called Four Sided. This inspired me to make my own sort of wall hanging because, well, they were just too adorable not to re-create!
Apollo a.k.a Trouble. Always needs to see whats going on.
I decided to change up the materials so I used white polymer clay for the head and eyes. For the embellishments I embroidered a nose, ears and tiny blue flowers onto pieces of felt. On the very back I hung a small metal backing so it can be hung anywhere.
He turned out to be an awesome little sculpture and I will most definitely be making more in the future!
Thanks for stopping by!
