Two weekends ago we took our first trip of the season to the Elephants Trunk Flea Market in New Milford, CT! This is literally one of my favorite summer activities. I love finding old things to make new and bring back to life in a big way.
I have collected some of the most interesting and beautiful pieces from this market such as jewelry, woven baskets, leather goods, vintage bowls, etc. This market is massive, so if you plan on going make sure you wake up on the early side and get there around 9-10ish a.m. (or earlier if your the early riser type) because the hardcore vendors start packing up around 11:30 which gives me serious FOMO (fear of missing out)!
That’s a coffee maker!? So cool.. looks like, well I don’t know really haha. A robot?
Stumbled upon Loam, a table/shop full of really neat antiques, vintage finds and natural elements. Below is a bowl of really interesting and beautiful antique clay marbles. She also had antique darts and really lovely vintage pottery and jewelry.
Really loved these two doors. Outhouse doors I assume?
There is an endless amount of interesting furniture at this market, kind of pricey but fun to look at.
These guys! So creepy.. but so cool.
Stumbled upon this huge box of antique metal stamps and letterpress bits collected by the seller from various auctions. DESIGN NERD ALERT! I loved sifting through all these dirty, old amazing little blocks. I could have bought them all.
And I obviously couldn’t leave without one of those awesome little stamps! So I bought this happy little chap!
I also ended up purchasing this beautiful Mexican copper brooch which I plan to repurpose into a really neat necklace.
Loved sharing my favorites from the market with you!
I will be taking a LOT more trips to the market this summer and will definitely share all my good finds and favorites!
Hunt dem treasures!
